In the early 1970's, a documentary was made which told the story of the Christmas Tree Ship, aka the Rouse Simmons. Dr. Tom Nolan, who owns the rights to this fascinating video, has generously recreated the opening of the story with a special presentation for the Thompson Historical Advisory Committee. Step back in time and listen as Thompson and Manistique residents give eye witness testimony which places the Rouse Simmons at Thompson docks the night before she sailed. This commerative DVD can be purchased for $20.00 from the Committee and the proceeds will be used for the installation of our State historical marker and future projects.
